  To employers anymore having a degree is almost a liability. It does not mean you are going to bring more to the company. It means you are going to cost them more. What do they do to avoid paying more? They get rid of entry level positions and hire in temps. When they use these temp agencies they actually avoid paying you a fair wage by offering a smaller amount then the national average for a job. The temp agency then makes you feel you are limited in choices and actually talks you into accepting the position. The company that uses the temps will have a larger gap in training for the temp positions and the other employees. The majority of companies are no longer hiring temps for temp work, they are literally hiring temps for entry level positions with no desire to hire them into their company for fair pay and benefits.
  Big problems.
  If you are in a company and you are looking for a temp with a college education, you are literally contributing to the decay of your community.
  If you are using a temp agency to hire any skilled laborer with no intent of hiring them full-time, you are literally contributing to the decay of your community.
  If you are not promoting education and advancement opportunities within your company, you are literally contributing to the decay of your community.

  Did you know that there are government grants dedicated to paying for the education of your own employees?
  Didn't you want to help your own employees at no cost to yourself as well as create a strong overall morale?

  I was told two weeks ago that my former company, who was only paying me $11 an hour, wanted me to have a year of technical experience or more, and pay for my own parking ($5.25 a day) as well as expected me to have a bachelors degree in IT or corresponding degree, decided to lay me off. They said they will outsource and try a new company out in India and if it did not work out they would give me a in January. I agreed to work for them for so little because I was told there was a chance to get full employment, benefits, and advancement. I found out later that the negotiations with the other company had been going on for over a year (before I was hired).
  I am so disgusted with this situation and only God knows when the last time I was able to get to the doctor's or a dentist for check-ups and examines. I only want a company to play fair, to actually care about their employees. Does this happen anymore? I do not mind putting in my dues, but I would appreciate it to happen with respect, not back handed, undermining, short-cutting, and with treachery.
